Rated highly for its atmosphere, service, and food are: Dahlia Café, which offers American cuisine and live music on weekends; Hill Country Café, which offers local foods; and Smokey Mo's BBQ, which is lauded for its barbecue specialties.

For those who also enjoy the outdoors, the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge, which can be reached in less than 30 minutes, offers numerous opportunities to enjoy the wildlife and engage in bird-watching on nearly 7 miles of trails. During certain times of the year, big game hunting is also available.
